About the database This database is a collection of Pug information gathered over the years by myself, with generous contributions from other Pug fanciers. It knows no borders and includes Pugs from around the world. It is not a registry or a pedigree service; I have no magic wand that could produce a Pug's pedigree if the ancestry information is not already on file. The database is primarily geared toward famciers who show and breed their Pugs and who might find a service of this kind helpful.
Titles The championship titles are sometimes a best guess based on the country of origin and/or the country of residence of the Pug. Some sources have not specified the origin of the title and some Pugs might hold more championships than stated. To save on space, the various Winner-titles used in FCI shows have been omitted. I apologize to anyone whose Pug has garnered a lot of them. The one exception is the World Winner, if known.
Color The color of the Pug is stated when positively known, either through registration, breeder/owner statement or personal sighting.
Names Under the American Kennel Club (AKC) and the Canadian Kennel Club (CKC) rules there can be no duplicate names within a breed. This is not the case in all other countries, which has presented a problem in the entry of some of the names. To make sure that a Pug is credited with the correct parentage, you will see some with their registration numbers attached to the end of the name. The number is not part of the Pug's registered name and is used for identification purposes only. When the registration number is not known, a number or country code is attached to the end of the name.

In a database of this size, created as it is by different people, there are bound to be duplicates of the same dog with a somewhat different spelling of the name. Before computers, pedigrees were passed on in hand written form and variations of the same name were quite common. It would be a monumental task to check every name for the correct spelling, and often impossible to know which spelling is the correct one when original registration papers are not available. If you run into duplicates of what appears to be just one dog, please report these and corrections will be made.

Please report errors, omissions or additions to pugpedigrees@solnapugs.com .
